Functional analysis · Banach spaces
Antonio Acuaviva
I am a PhD candidate at Lancaster University working on Banach spaces and operator theory, with particular interests in primarity, operator factorisation, and C(K)-spaces.
About
My research concerns structural and geometric questions in infinite-dimensional Banach spaces, including complemented subspaces, operator ideals, Calkin algebras, and spaces with few operators. I work under the supervision of Professor Niels Jakob Laustsen.
Before Lancaster, I completed Part III (MASt) in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge as a La Caixa fellow. I also hold a degree in Mathematics and a degree in Physics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. During my studies there, I spent a year at the University of California, Berkeley, supported by a UCM–University of California Scholarship.
